About this race
Lone Wolf 135 assigns each runner a 4-by-8-foot staging area before they begin ten 13.5-mile loops in Experiment, Georgia. This is a fall 135-mile self-supported trail race featuring over 20,000 feet of elevation gain. The course is a double-track, ATV-passable loop around a lake on private land. The race is limited to 25 participants, requires a prior 100-mile finish for entry, and has a strict 48-hour cutoff.
The loop design ensures runners do not cross their own path, returning to a full aid station at the start/finish after each circuit. Water is also provided at miles 6 and 9. However, outside assistance is prohibited: no crew, no pacers, no non-runners in the aid area, and no returning to vehicles for additional equipment. Trekking poles are permitted, carrying a phone for emergencies is advised, and the race format is intended for individuals capable of self-managing their pacing, nutrition, gear, and issues for two days. Finishers are awarded a buckle, and the first male and first female runners receive trophies.
