About this race
The Love Never Ends Trail Run is a trail event held at Erwin Park, a 200-plus-acre park featuring approximately ten miles of trails. Participants can select from a 5K, 15K, 30K, or 50K race, accommodating distances from a short trail run to an ultramarathon. Virtual entries are available for all distances, with shirts and medals sent to virtual participants; live runners collect their medals at the event.
The course consists of single-track paths winding through woods, open fields, and rolling hills. The longer races include significant elevation gains: over 700 feet for the 15K, over 1,400 feet for the 30K, and over 2,100 feet for the 50K. Proceeds benefit The Great Root Movement, supporting the RIZE Scholarship for bereaved mothers and domestic abuse victims, the Reagan and Grant Small Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund, and scholarships for high school seniors. Race director Karen A. Sparks, who founded the nonprofit, draws on her own ultrarunning experience, having completed races up to 100 miles.
