About this race
The Marfa 100 is a 100K bike race held in Marfa, Texas. Race headquarters are at the USO Building on South Highland Avenue. Riders will travel on Ranch Road 2810, a remote two-lane road southwest of town known locally as the Road to Nowhere. The event embraces its high desert location, earning it the nickname “Toughest 100K in Texas.”
The route consists of a long, straight, empty stretch of pavement through rolling high desert grassland for approximately 31 miles. The challenge stems from exposure, distance, and the quiet road, rather than urban traffic. The City of Marfa supports the race, with its donation component benefiting Big Bend conservation efforts. These efforts include work by Conserve Big Bend and their No Big Bend Wall campaign, which addresses landowner rights, public transparency, and the protection of cultural and environmental resources.
