About this race
The MCG White Coat Dash 5K is a late-August walk/run held at 1001 Center Street in Augusta, Georgia. The MCG Run Club's student doctors organize this event with the goal of uniting the Medical College of Georgia community and the public for a 5K that promotes active habits and health beyond the clinic.
The participants are divided into registration groups: AU students and graduate students, staff, faculty and alumni, and the general public. The event welcomes everyday runners, first-time 5K participants, and experienced walkers. All funds raised benefit the MCG Student Run Clinics, which offer free healthcare to underserved communities in Augusta, provided by student doctors. The race also provides sample training plans, including one for beginners and another for beginner-to-intermediate participants, adjusted by time and effort.
