Megan Hammerle Memorial 5K Run/Walk 2026

The Megan Hammerle Memorial 5K, which began in May 2015, honors Megan Hammerle, a Lebanon High School student and DePauw University Science Research Fellow who died from a rare form of meningitis. Megan loved to run, and the race "continues to run with us in spirit." Initially, the 5K funded a scholarship in her name. Since 2021, the Boone County Mentoring Partnership has operated the race, raising nearly $100,000 to support "engaging young people with caring and supportive adults."
