About this race
Mind Over Miles is a 5K run/walk in Jacksonville, North Carolina, with its start and finish at 100 Recreation Blvd. The main race takes place in the morning, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. EDT, focusing on mental health awareness for young people rather than solely on finish times. Participants can register for the 5K as competitive racers, casual joggers, or walkers. A 1K Fun Run/Walk is available for children, families, and those preferring a shorter distance. A virtual 5K option is also provided.
The race benefits the BobbiMac Seed Foundation, an organization dedicated to reducing stigma surrounding mental health challenges in teens and removing care barriers for individuals aged 13 to 18. The foundation notes that one in five teens faces mental health challenges, and proceeds from donations assist uninsured and underserved youth. All participants who finish a race receive finisher medals. The event also features local vendors, community partners, entertainment, and music. Following race day, the foundation hosts a Youth Leadership Summit for middle and high school students, concentrating on character and leadership development.
