About this race
Monster Dash is a Halloween 5K and kids' race in Manito Park on Spokane's South Hill, with costumes encouraged from the start. The 5K begins at 10:00am and uses chip timing, while the Kids' Fun Run follows at 11:00am with 1-mile, half-mile, and quarter-mile options.
The day is structured so families can participate in both races: parents often run the 5K first, then join their children for the Fun Run, and adults can walk or run beside kids for the entire course. Children receive candy goodie bags at the finish, and all race proceeds benefit Active4Youth, a local nonprofit that provides free elementary running programs in Spokane-area school districts and addresses childhood obesity through after-school activity.
