Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk

The Monster Dash 5K Run/Walk is a Halloween-themed 5K and kids' run in Manito Park on Spokane's South Hill. The main 5K begins in the morning and is chip timed. The Kids' Fun Run follows later, offering one-mile, half-mile, and quarter-mile distances. Costumes are encouraged, so participants can dress for Halloween rather than treating it as a standard road race. The course winds through Manito Park in autumn, with fallen leaves contributing to the seasonal atmosphere. Families are a key part of the event; many parents run the 5K first, then join their children for the fun run. Adults can also walk or run alongside children for the entire course. Children receive candy goodie bags at the finish. All race proceeds benefit Active4Youth, a local nonprofit supporting after-school activities and free elementary running programs in Spokane Public Schools, West Valley School District, and Central Valley School District.
