About this race
Swamp Stomp is an annual trail race held at Hawthorn Park in Terre Haute, Indiana. It features a 5-mile run, a 4-mile walk, and a 1-mile fun run. The 1-mile run begins first, followed by the start of the 5-mile and 4-mile events simultaneously in the morning. The Wabash Valley Road Runners organize the race, with Morris Trucking serving as the presenter.
The course follows the trails within Hawthorn Park. These trails are typically in good condition but can become muddy and waterlogged following periods of rain. Course marshals mark the route and are stationed along it, contributing to a local club atmosphere rather than that of a large-scale urban race. Following the event, participants can enjoy refreshments, including pizza, and an awards ceremony. Awards are given to overall finishers, age group winners (in 5-year increments), and top competitive walkers.
