About this race

The Myrtle Beach 24 Hour is an ultrarunning race held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Participants have from 8 a.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday to complete as many miles as possible. With no minimum distance, the event accommodates runners finishing at 50 miles and those exceeding 100 miles. Race director Patrick Lloyd initiated it as a personal project after becoming involved in ultrarunning, with aspirations for it to become an annual tradition. The race attracted close to 100 participants from the Carolinas and other regions. A prior weather-related postponement and a reduction in the field followed a sell-out with a waitlist. Cold wind was a notable factor; Mikey Pylilo completed 100 miles, noting the wind's shifting direction. Patrick Hasler traveled from Cincinnati, forewent sleep, and achieved 155 miles, qualifying for the USA National 24-hour men’s team. His perspective aligns with the event's structure: individual goals are paramount, and success is not solely defined by winning.
