Myrtle Beach Adventure Ruck 2026
Saturday, October 3, 2026 · Myrtle Beach, United States
Distances
48.3km
About this race
The Myrtle Beach Adventure Ruck is a 10-hour team race held across Myrtle Beach. Three athletes will share one required ruck, weighing at least 20 pounds dry. It combines endurance marching, navigation, and a checkpoint hunt. Teams select their own routes using a map or GPS, aiming to gather the most checkpoints before the 10-hour limit. The event is open to participants aged 16 and older, with teams formed by men, women, or coed members.
The distance varies based on the chosen route and team pace, with most teams anticipated to cover approximately 20 to 35 miles. These routes will traverse from the beach into urban settings and back, following the checkpoint pattern each team devises. The total number of checkpoints is not revealed beforehand, and they are not all basic location markers. Some checkpoints involve obstacles, physical tasks, mental puzzles, or team-based challenges requiring collective effort. Scoring is direct: checkpoints equate to points, the highest score wins, and finishing time serves as a tiebreaker. The ruck can be carried by a single teammate or exchanged among members. Successful teams require more than physical conditioning; they need effective route planning, clear communication, and a strategy for managing fatigue throughout the long day.
