About this race
The Natchez Trace Trail Run begins at the Garrison Creek Rest Stop on the Natchez Trace Trail, offering a half marathon, marathon, 13-mile ruck, and 50-mile ultra. This single-day trail event is limited to 120 participants, focusing on fast, wooded single-track rather than large groups or road-race finishes. The 50-miler is an out-and-back course with approximately 10,000 feet of elevation gain. The half marathon and ruck routes are point-to-point and include bus transportation.
The course utilizes a less-traveled corridor off the Natchez Trace Parkway, featuring varied terrain from fast runnable trail to rougher, less maintained sections. Much of the course consists of single-track through rolling woods, with multiple road crossings and up to about 25 miles of trail. Participants must carry their own hydration, and aid stations may not provide cups. The event was established to host a fast ultra and support the growth of the Nashville trail running scene, incorporating the historical Kaintuck travel route.
