NCC Hydra Cross (RVCX Series #2) 2026

SAT, September 5, 2026 · Holyoke , United States

About this race

NCC Hydra Cross is an early-season cyclocross race held at Pulaski Park in Holyoke, Massachusetts. It is Race #2 in the River Valley CX Series. The event is designed for regular cross racers, but it also welcomes newcomers to bike racing. A free race-day intro clinic, taught by local racers, precedes beginner races. New riders begin in the category 5 level. Adult riders may register on race day for an additional fee, while youth riders can register on the day of the event at no extra cost. All participants require a USA Cycling license, available for purchase during registration. The course utilizes the entire length of Pulaski Park, featuring a mix of grass, dirt, and some pavement on a predominantly flat terrain with a few short climbs. Racers begin with a wide, slightly uphill start from the Legion Shelf, proceeding towards Holyoke's Muscle Beach. The route navigates the hillier southern section of the park, presenting sharp off-camber turns, including the most challenging one situated near the finish line. File treads are suitable for dry conditions, all-around tires offer a reliable option, and a mountain bike is acceptable for beginners. Spectators have numerous vantage points along the park's length, with nearby mountain and river vistas, and continuous race commentary provided by Jake Kravitz.
