About this race
The New Orleans Ultramarathon and Half guides runners through the city on an urban course, offering 50-mile, 50K, and half marathon distances. The longer races begin at Jackson Square, while the half marathon starts later from Louisiana Running Company on Canal Street. As the only ultramarathon in New Orleans, the event caters to runners seeking a challenge beyond a standard road race within city limits.
The course functions as an extensive running tour of New Orleans, crossing from the French Quarter through the St. Charles Garden District, extending towards the Lakefront of Pontchartrain, and concluding in Mid City. Participants will see neighborhoods, parks, and waterways instead of a contained park loop or rural path. Pacers are permitted; ultra runners may add one after the third aid station. A short FKTea shakeout run occurs near packet pickup at Louisiana Running Company.
