About this race
The NOON Year's Eve 5K is a New Year's Eve race in Charlotte, North Carolina, beginning at noon with a countdown rather than midnight. The primary event is a certified 5K run/walk at McAlpine Creek Park, followed by a Kids Dash for younger participants.
The 5K starts and finishes within the park on a certified cross-country course featuring a crushed gravel surface. Participants receive a long-sleeve race shirt, medal, and post-race food and beverages. A Go Green option is available, allowing participants to forgo the shirt and medal. The race sold out in its first three editions. Awards are presented to overall winners, age groups, and for the full 5K, with a separate timed last-mile competition also included.
