About this race
The course winds through the Upper Peninsula, starting in Negaunee, the "birthplace of iron ore mining." After a brief paved section, you're back on trails, passing by lakes, rivers, ponds, and wildlife. The path, often "tunneled" by trees, rolls with the hills, dropping in elevation towards Marquette. Look for vistas of Lake Superior as you approach, and historic sites like Cliff’s Shaft. For shorter adventures, the Shore Rock is perfect for new riders, while the Junior, Little, and Littlest Rock races offer fun for kids and toddlers, letting them cruise into the finish near the "Great Gitche Gumee."
