The Path to Prevention race is a running event in Riverdale, Utah, located at 4600 Weber River Drive near the Weber River. It features a half marathon and a 5K, starting Saturday morning in late summer. Proceeds benefit local coalition efforts to prevent underage drinking and other drug misuse. The race also provides participants with information on opioid and substance misuse prevention.
The 5K course is easy to follow, with volunteers stationed along the route and at the finish line distributing medals. The finish area offers booths with drinks, snacks, and cooling towels. Despite its size, the race provides chip timing with easily accessible results. Sponsors and partners include Ogden CAN, Riverdale City, Uintah City, South Ogden City, Washington Terrace City, SOAR Coalition, Bonneville Communities That Care Coalition, and recovery and treatment groups.
