Pirate 5K Booty Run

The Pirate 5K Booty Run is a pirate-themed 5K run/walk held at Woodward Park’s Shinzen Group Activity Area in Fresno, California. Both the 5K and a 2-mile run/walk begin at 9:00 a.m. The 2-mile option is untimed. A virtual run option is available for those who want the event shirt and a connection to the race without participating in person. This is the 12th year for the event, and it is the second race in the Cal Classic Runner of the Year Series. The course embraces the pirate theme with pirates stationed along the route and music playing. Runners are cautioned to watch for scallywags. Finishers receive a pirate medallion and an event shirt. Many participants wear pirate costumes for the costume contest. The event welcomes walkers, strollers, and children, with reduced pricing for kids aged 9 and under. An unusual feature is the Pirate Treasure Chest, valued at $2,000, for which winners must be present. The event also supports Valley Crime Stoppers as its charity partner.
