Pony Express 5k

The Pony Express 5K is a Saturday morning road race in Saint Joseph, Missouri. It starts and finishes at the Pony Express Museum on Penn Street. This is a professionally timed 5K for runners and walkers. The event raises money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital via the Measly Mile Mafia Heroes fundraising team. The route follows the classic 5K course, using the Pony Express Museum as its anchor point, connecting the run to a well-known historic site in Saint Joseph. Finishers receive a commemorative medal. Age-group awards are presented, and overall awards go to male, female, and nonbinary runners. Participants can add a second challenge by also completing the DeKalb Firefighter 5K or 10K. This earns a challenge coin and may unlock an extra bonus coin or medal, plus a pancake breakfast from the DeKalb Fire Department for challenge participants.
