About this race
Race to Cure Sarcoma Boston is an annual 5K run and 1-mile walk held at Boston Common, utilizing the Perimeter Pathway adjacent to the Parkman Bandstand. The event includes a timed 5K for adults and children, an untimed 5K or 1-mile walk, and virtual participation options for those unable to attend.
The Sarcoma Foundation of America organizes the race, gathering hundreds of individuals impacted by sarcoma, a rare cancer originating in bone or connective tissues like muscle, fat, nerves, blood vessels, or joint-surrounding tissue. Proceeds from entry fees and donations support sarcoma awareness and research. The Boston event has a fundraising goal of $115,000; top teams have exceeded $20,000, and individual fundraisers have garnered over $2,000.
