Red River Ultrafest

About this race
Red River Ultrafest, Fargo/Moorhead's first ultramarathon, is based at a large shelter on the north side of a Moorhead, Minnesota park. Runners and walkers select a timed race of 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours and aim to cover maximum distance. Each time option includes a ruck division, with participants carrying a 35-pound pack. The 24-hour race begins in the evening; shorter races start the following morning. All participants finish on the same race-day evening, excluding the 3-hour and 6-hour fields.
The course is a 5-mile loop starting on Gooseberry trails, crossing the bridge into Lindenwood, proceeding north to Dike East, and returning to Gooseberry. This loop format simplifies progress measurement, aid station resets, and lap continuation. Finishers receive an award, a shirt, and pizza. Achieving 100 miles in the run or 100K in the ruck earns a buckle. The main aid station is a central race feature, providing snacks and fuel. A water stop is located at the turnaround, and participants are asked to bring a collapsible cup due to limited event cups.
