About this race
The River Lake Days Run begins and ends at Centennial Park in Richmond, Minnesota. The 10K, 5K run/walk, and Kids Fun Run all operate from the park. The 10K starts in the morning, followed by the 5K, and the kids' race occurs as the main races conclude. This event is a community festival race, not just a single-distance road race. It features measured courses, shirts for early registrants, and offers same-day registration before the start.
The 10K route follows rural township roads, including a consistent climb around the race's midpoint, leading to a fast downhill near the finish. The 5K route stays within Richmond, utilizing city streets and the Glacier Lakes Bike/Walking Trail. Awards are presented at the Park Pavilion after the kids' run. Prizes include Scheels gift cards for the top 10K and 5K finishers, medals for age-group winners, random gift-card drawings based on participant numbers, and finisher medals for all Youth Fun Run participants. Costume awards, linked to the festival theme, are also given.
