About this race
The Run for Mental Health 5K/10K/13.1 Chicago/Evanston is a small-group run along Chicago’s Lakefront Trail, offering 5K, 10K, half-marathon, and 1-mile Family Fun Run distances. Participants run and walk in capped waves, with the event focused on mental health awareness, aiming to break stigma and provide a motivation for running in support of individuals facing mental health challenges.
The course begins and ends on the Lakefront Trail; a detailed map will be provided to participants prior to race day. This is not a chip-timed event. Timing is optional, and runners may use apps such as Strava or RunKeeper, request assistance from coordinators, or complete the distance without focusing on time. Registration includes a shirt mailed to US addresses, a medal, a finisher towel or giveaway, a digital training pack, online results, and a completion certificate. An eco-friendly option without a shirt is available, as is a virtual run for those who wish to participate remotely. For every mile logged after the race, a $1 donation will be made to a supported charity.
