Run Like a Hero: 4th of July 5k 2026

The Run Like a Hero 5k is a July 4th run/walk held in Chico, California, beginning at Sycamore Field in Bidwell Park. Presented by the Chico Striders and Chico Running Club, the event embraces its holiday theme with participants encouraged to wear hero costumes or Independence Day attire. This local club event includes timing by the Chico Running Club, with packet pickup available at Fleet Feet prior to race day and bib pickup at Sycamore Field on race day. The course starts in Bidwell Park, a well-known Chico running location also utilized by the club for its New Year’s Day 5k. Proceeds benefit the Chico Striders Run Strong Scholarship, which supports graduating high school senior athletes, thereby linking the holiday run to local student athletics. Members of the Chico Striders and Chico Running Club receive a registration discount. Volunteers assist with race setup, and finishers can enjoy refreshments after completing the course.
