Run Mahomet

Run Mahomet is a long-running race weekend in Mahomet featuring four distances: a Friday evening Main Street Mile, followed by a 5K, 10K, and half marathon on Saturday morning. The three longer routes are USATF Certified, chip-timed for in-person runners, and mostly flat, making the event suitable for those aiming for a fast time as well as runners seeking a local race with defined distances. The series serves as the primary fundraiser for the Mahomet Area Youth Club, with all proceeds directly supporting the nonprofit. MAYC assists local children ages 6 to 18 and their families, offering programs focused on attendance, grades, behavior, and school engagement for over 300 young people annually. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers and to age-group winners in the 5K, 10K, and half marathon. Virtual participation is available for all distances, including shirts and finisher medals mailed to remote runners.
