Palmer Park hosts the start and finish near the Pavilion by the lower fields, giving the Run Rhino Whiskey Run Madison-Huntsville a practical park-race atmosphere before its playful whiskey theme emerges. The series motto, "Race first, celebrate after," clearly defines its personality. Run Rhino Run has organized races since 2010 and includes this event in its multi-city Whiskey Run series.
The route utilizes the park's layout: packet pickup and race-day activities are centered around the Pavilion, parking is available by the lower fields ballparks pavilion, and a finish line medal awaits before the tasting begins. Walkers are permitted, contributing to a more diverse field than a purely competitive race.
