Run the Resort 5K

Run the Resort 5K takes place on Labor Day Weekend at Mission Resort Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The race begins at 7:30 AM and offers a walk-or-run format. It is a timed, in-person 5K, with a virtual option for those who wish to receive the shirt, medal, and shipped race items without attending on site. Entry includes a custom finisher medal, race shirt, and breakfast sandwiches and beverages after the race. The course winds through the resort grounds, featuring lakes, golf fairways, gardens, and historic architecture instead of typical city streets. The expected participants include local families, fitness-focused runners, walkers, and resort weekend guests. Strollers are permitted if positioned toward the rear of the start. The race is also part of the spring Run the Course event via the Two Course Challenge; completing both races allows the two medals to connect, forming a single double challenge medal. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, masters winners, and age-group recipients.
