ShamRock N Run

ShamRock N Run is an annual 5K in downtown Waterloo, Iowa, held during Iowa Irish Fest each August. The race begins at 9 a.m. near the corner of Park Avenue and Mulberry Street, close to the festival’s Main Gate 1 entrance in the Lincoln Park area. This is a short festival race, not a stand-alone running weekend. Runners can add an Irish Fest pass to stay for live music, food, dance workshops, whiskey classes, rugby, Highland Games, Gaelic football, hurling, sheep herding, and family activities. The festival started in 2006, founded by the Cedar Valley Irish Cultural Association, and is Iowa’s largest Irish event. Race entries include a T-shirt, snacks, water, and beer. Participants are encouraged to wear Irish-themed gear.
