SSM Health Walleye Run/Walk

The SSM Health Walleye Run/Walk takes place on race morning at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, connected to the annual Walleye Weekend Festival since 1980. Participants can choose from a 5-mile run, a 2-mile run, or a 3-mile family walk, with shorter kids races held later. The event accommodates various participants: runners seeking age-group results, walkers on the park route, children 12 and under in the 1-mile novice run, and children 6 and under in the 1/3-mile races. The 5-mile course covers Lakeside Park and the former UW Fond du Lac campus area. The 2-mile run and 3-mile walk remain within Lakeside Park. All events use chip timing. The longer runs offer overall awards for the top three male and female finishers, along with age-group awards for the 5-mile and 2-mile races. The kids races follow a similar structure, awarding the top three in the 1-mile run and providing completion certificates for 1-mile and 1/3-mile finishers. Awards are not formally presented; winners collect them near registration at the north shelter on Oven Island.
