SSW Running Club Club Challenge 5k 2026

The SSW Running Club Challenge 5k is a Wednesday evening trail race held at Yankee Woods in Tinley Park. The race begins and ends near the intersection of 166th Street and Central Avenue, with a 7:00 PM start time. This event is structured around local running clubs from the South and Southwest suburbs. The Homewood Flossmoor Community Running Club extends an invitation to Chicagoland clubs to compete against each other. Unattached runners are also welcome to participate. The course covers 5k along the trails within Yankee Woods. Clubs may register three-person teams in male, female, or co-ed divisions, including high school, open, and masters categories. Team champions are determined by the combined times of the three runners. Individual awards are presented to the top three overall finishers and the top three within each age group, ranging from 14 and under to 55 and over. Following the race, awards will be presented at Oliver's in Oak Forest at 8:00 PM, where attendees receive a complimentary appetizer.
