About this race
Stop the Traffick! is a Saturday morning race festival held at Kalamazoo Christian Elementary in Michigan. The event features a one-mile fun run and a chip-timed 5K, partnering with Destiny Rescue to raise funds for rescuing children from human trafficking. A non-running shirt option is available for those who wish to contribute without participating in a race.
Both races take place on an off-road cross-country course with trails, differing from typical road racing. Strollers are not recommended. The one-mile event, which serves as a costume run, starts first, followed by the chip-timed 5K. The cause is linked to the STOP THE TRAFFIK movement, an anti-trafficking campaign that has also addressed community awareness, modern slavery, and supply-chain abuses like child trafficking in the cocoa industry.
