Summit Mountain Challenge 2027

Summit Mountain Challenge is a six-race summer mountain bike series on the trails of Summit County, Colorado. Races are held on Wednesday evenings from May through August, between 5:00 and 9:00 PM. The series offers long, short, and kids course options, catering to regular racers, newer riders, and families. The schedule concludes with the Breckenridge Classic, providing a finale in one of Summit County’s main mountain towns. Riders competing for overall standings must complete five of the six races on the same course length. Breckenridge Recreation manages the series, having acquired it from Jeff “Westy” Wescott of Maverick Sports Promotions, maintaining a focus on affordable, well-run community racing. Race plans may be adjusted due to weather and trail conditions, and the events operate under a USDA Forest Service permit in White River National Forest.
