About this race
The Summit Mountain Challenge is a six-race summer mountain bike series held on the trails of Summit County, Colorado. Races take place on Wednesday evenings from May through August, with starts and riding occurring between 5:00 and 9:00 PM.
The series includes long, short, and kids courses. Riders aiming for the overall title must complete five of the six races on the same course type. The final event is the Breckenridge Classic. Breckenridge Recreation now manages the series, having acquired it from Jeff “Westy” Wescott of Maverick Sports Promotions. The events are intended to remain fun, affordable, and well organized, with operations authorized by the USDA Forest Service in the White River National Forest.
