About this race
Summit Mountain Challenge is a six-race mountain bike series on the trails of Summit County, Colorado, with Wednesday evening races from May through August. It is structured as a summer race-and-ride series, offering long, short, and kids course options so riders can select a distance suited to their age, fitness, or experience.
The series concludes with the Breckenridge Classic. Riders must complete five of the six races in the same course category to be eligible for the overall series win. Breckenridge Recreation manages the series, having taken over from Jeff “Westy” Wescott of Maverick Sports Promotions, maintaining the emphasis on accessible, organized community racing. As the routes utilize National Forest trails under a White River National Forest permit, race schedules may be adjusted due to weather and trail conditions.
