Synaptic Strides for Parkinson's Research is a walk/run held at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Participants can choose between a 3K route or a 1.25-mile accessible course. The event welcomes runners, walkers, and supporters of all ages and abilities, using the slogan “Every Step Strengthens the Signal.” Proceeds are directed to the Parkinson’s Foundation, supporting research, resources, and care for individuals affected by Parkinson’s.
The event commemorates Hal Snyder, who lived with Parkinson’s Disease for 15 years. Hal was married to Diane for 62 years, a father of three, and a grandfather of eight. He was a sales consultant, volunteer, author, and sports enthusiast who followed the Boston Red Sox, New York Giants, New Jersey Devils, and Seton Hall Prep soccer. The shorter course options ensure the day is accessible, while the core purpose remains personal: exercise, connection, awareness, and a tribute to Hal’s perseverance.
