The 2026 Boilermaker Shakeout Run

The Boilermaker Shakeout Run is a free Friday-evening fun run starting at The Sneaker Store in New Hartford, New York, close to Utica. The Sneaker Store and New Balance Running organize it between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. EDT. The atmosphere is casual: families are welcome, runners under 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and there is no pressure to race. The route follows a relaxed 3-mile loop beginning and ending at The Sneaker Store. Participants have the option to run shorter distances or continue beyond the loop. The first 200 registered runners will receive a Shakeout Run tank from New Balance. New Balance will also provide demo shoes for testing. Goodie bags contain a New Balance coupon code. Following the run, attendees can gather at Grow Brewing Co. for beverages, including non-alcoholic choices, and food from a local food truck.
