About this race
The Hoot'n Bulldog Track Ultra is a timed track ultra held at Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Florida. It offers 6-, 12-, 24-, and 48-hour race options on a certified, USATF-sanctioned course. Runners complete laps on the track for their selected duration, with the potential for record-eligible performances because of the course's certification. The race names reflect the event's theme: The Big Hoot for the 48-hour race, The Little Hoot for the 24-hour race, The Bulldog for the 12-hour race, and The Frenchie for the 6-hour race.
The race setup supports extended track running beyond simple lap counting. Runners and their crews have access to infield camping, personal aid stations, stadium bathrooms, and 24-hour locker room facilities. The race provides food and beverages, including hot meals for participants in the 24- and 48-hour events. Direction of running reverses every four hours, helping to mitigate monotony and distribute the physical stress of continuous laps on the oval. Pacers are typically not permitted, although some participants may have limited access.
