About this race
The Phrozen Jewel Run offers both a 5K and a 10K, starting at Jay Blanchard Park in Orlando. Participants can choose an in-person 5K or a virtual or international 10K, which can be done from any secure location. The in-person morning schedule includes registration, a brief Zumba warm-up, the 5K race, followed by a Kiddie Dash. The 5K covers 3.1 miles, and the 10K covers 6.2 miles. Participants may run, walk, jog, roller skate, or compete.
The I.S. Hankins F.A. Johnson Education Foundation and the Delta Xi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity organize this event. Proceeds benefit the Young Men of Distinction mentoring program. All participants receive a shirt and a medal. In-person awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers and to age-group winners, with categories ranging from 18-29 to 90+. Virtual runners can log their distance using a watch, phone, or the Strava club, and they may submit results even if their primary motivation is to support the cause.
