About this race
The Zeta Rho Lambda Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk takes place on a June morning at 303 Transportation Circle in Dover, Delaware. It is organized by the Zeta Rho Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. The primary event is a 5K open to runners and walkers. A non-competitive Fun Run/Walk is available for those seeking a less strenuous option, and a virtual 5K allows supporters to participate on their own schedule and course.
The race supports Alpha Phi Alpha national programs, with a chapter fundraising target of $5,000. Benefiting projects include Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Project Alpha, and the Boy Scouts of America. The first 100 individuals to register receive a race shirt. All participants are awarded medals, and finishers are offered hotdogs and hamburgers. Trophies are presented to overall finishers, age-group competitors, top "Hero" entrants in police, firefighter, educator, military, and medical or mental health worker categories, and Divine 9 Challenge teams from local fraternities and sororities.
