Treat Trot Des Moines

Treat Trot Des Moines begins and ends at Riverview Park on Corning Avenue in Des Moines. The main race starts at 7:00 a.m., following an early Kids Dash. This spring running event offers several participation options: 5K, 10K, 15K, an untimed 1 Mile, Kids Dash, Virtual Race, and a Volunteer then Run choice. The timed road races feature chip timing, live results, and age-group awards, while the 1 Mile, Kids Dash, and virtual option are untimed. The event is designed for families and regular runners alike. Children 10 and under have their own dash, and they can participate for free if they forgo the shirt and medal package. The 5K, 10K, and 15K include a custom bib, a shirt, a finisher medal, free photos, snacks at the finish line, and awards for overall, masters, and age-group runners. The virtual race allows participants to run at their own time and location, with a digital bib, shirt, medal, and packet shipped to them. Bodies Race Company states its mission is to “Make a healthy impact in our communities.” The event also features an after-party and courses within the park, developed with local partners.
