About this race
The Tri Goddess Triathlon begins at Portage Lake in Waterloo State Recreation Area, located approximately 12 miles west of Chelsea, Michigan. The main sprint triathlon, super sprint triathlon, sprint aquabike, and sprint duathlon all commence at 7:30 a.m. EDT. The event also provides Olympic, sprint, and mini-distance race options. It is designed for women of diverse skill levels, offering formats that allow beginners to select a shorter race and seasoned athletes to compete over longer distances.
The sprint triathlon includes an 800-meter swim in the lake, a 10.3-mile bike course, and a 3-mile run. The super sprint shortens the swim to 400 meters and the run to 1.5 miles. Both bike courses utilize paved roads featuring rolling hills. The run courses combine road and trail sections within the recreation area. Participants may also opt for a duathlon, an aquabike, or a sprint relay, enabling them to omit the swim, skip the run, or divide the full sprint triathlon among teammates. A State Park permit or Recreation Passport is necessary for park entry, and open-water practice swims are available on race day.
