This event honors the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, an FDNY firefighter who, on September 11, 2001, ran three miles through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers after strapping on his gear. It honors those who lost their lives on that day and supports first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty. Now in its 13th year, this run welcomes families and participants in firefighter gear or military backpacks.
