UltiMutt Race @ Tryon Resort 2026

UltiMutt Race is a 5k obstacle race for dog-and-owner teams at Tryon Resort in Mill Spring, North Carolina. The event runs as a daytime Saturday race and festival, with a course built by canine agility and fitness professionals and more than 17 obstacles to handle with your dog. Runners can choose a timed Competitive Wave or a non-timed Fun Run Wave, so the same event works for people chasing awards and for owners who just want to move through the course at an easy pace. The course starts dogs in three separated lanes, with three runners released every 30 seconds to keep teams from bunching up. Competitive runners can skip or fail an obstacle, but they owe 30 squats for it; awards go to Alpha Male and Alpha Female winners in both large-dog and small-dog divisions. Finishers get race photos, a medal, a year-specific iron-on patch, and entry to Noble Dog Fest, which brings food trucks, a craft biergarten, local vendors, dog yoga, disc dog demos, and harness fittings. The race also raises money for Greenville County Animal Care, with part of every fee and all donations going to the shelter, plus a Top Dog award for the leading fundraiser.
