About this race
The Unity Wellness Center World AIDS Day Run/Walk is a $5 5K and 1-mile event in Auburn, Alabama, observed on World AIDS Day. The 1-mile walk begins first and is untimed. The 5K starts afterward as a timed run or walk. A virtual 5K or 1-mile option is available for remote participation. Race shirts can be added for $20. Entry with a shirt is complimentary for individuals living with HIV and for veterans.
The event benefits the Unity Wellness Center, offering HIV testing and counseling, primary medical care, medical case management, and prevention services. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, and the top male and female in each age category. Refreshments and a raffle follow the race. The World AIDS Day observance, established in 1988 as the first global health day, aims to support people living with HIV and commemorate those lost to AIDS-related illnesses.
