Virginia Credit Union River City Half & River City 5k

The Virginia Credit Union River City Half & River City 5K start and finish on the University of Richmond campus. Both races are routed around the west side of Richmond, avoiding the downtown streets. This spring race series offers two distances: a half marathon for those seeking a longer run, and a 5K suitable for shorter-distance runners and walkers. The half marathon route crosses the university campus, crosses the Huguenot Bridge, and includes sections with views of the James River. The 5K also runs through the University of Richmond, utilizes River Road, and features an out-and-back portion on the Huguenot Bridge. The courses highlight established neighborhoods, riverside roads, and outdoor areas like Pony Pasture, connecting the race to Richmond’s river corridor. Proceeds benefit Sports Backers, the local nonprofit guiding the event’s community-focused mission.
