About this race
The Wet Dog Triathlon is a sprint triathlon held at Point Mallard Park in Decatur, Alabama. The race includes a 400-meter open-water swim, a 15-kilometer bike ride, and a 5-kilometer run. It is part of the Summer Sprint Series, scheduled between the Heel & Crank Duathlon and the Huntsville Sprint Triathlon. Team Rocket Tri Club manages the race, with longtime race director Leah Brown remaining involved.
The course is flat, and the run route follows the banks of the Tennessee River. Participants can compete as individuals or as relay teams. The event is open to individuals aged 12 to 99. Wet Dog also raises funds for Tennessee Valley Outreach, Morgan County Rescue Squad, and the Princess Theater. Finishers will receive a series water bottle, and We Run Race Photography will provide race photos.
