Wheeling Heritage Trail Bicycle Tour 2026

The Wheeling Heritage Trail Bicycle Tour begins and ends at Heritage Port on Water Street in Wheeling, West Virginia. This yearly bike ride, organized by Ohio Valley Trail Partners, offers 15K, 50K, and 100K distances, with staggered starts throughout the morning. Helmets are mandatory. E-bikes are permitted on both trail and road segments. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. The 100K route covers 62 miles, diverging from the Wheeling Heritage Trail onto a loop of country roads featuring hills and a stop at Bethany College. The 50K and 100K distances include refreshment stations. SAG support is available for the 100K route. Registration provides a post-ride meal, with live entertainment connected to the day's Tough As Nails event. Proceeds from the tour fund Wheeling Heritage Trail maintenance, trail development, equipment acquisition, and efforts to improve bicycle and pedestrian pathways.
