Whittier Spooktacular 5K

The Whittier Spooktacular 5K begins and ends at the Whittier Community Center on Washington Avenue in Whittier, California. The main 5K run/walk begins at 8:00 a.m. on Halloween morning. Race day opens early with registration and packet pickup at 6:30 a.m., followed by the Creepy Crawly half-mile dash for kids 12 and under at 7:30. This is a Halloween-themed community fundraiser, with proceeds from the Whittier Community Foundation supporting local community work. The 5K course is USATF-certified, featuring chip timing and computerized finish-line results from Alliance Race Timing. Runners receive custom finisher medals, refreshments, goodie bags, and T-shirts while supplies and sizes last. The fastest overall male and female finishers win cash prizes. The morning embraces the holiday: DJs are stationed along the course, registered runners can enter a family-appropriate costume contest after finishing, and the post-race activities include awards, an opportunity drawing, a pancake breakfast free for registered runners, and a beer garden for adults 21 and older.
