About this race
WoodTickr Gravel Fondo sends riders onto mostly gravel roads in the rolling country near Hawley, Minnesota, not far from Minnesota Lakes Country. Organized by Flatlands Cycling and held in late June, it offers roughly 50, 100, and 150 kilometer options, allowing newer gravel riders to choose a shorter day while stronger riders can stretch out over a longer route.
The short route is called the Crawler, with the longer options listed as the Nibbler and Full Bite. Final routes are set after road checks, then shared before the event through RideWithGPS. Riders can use printed cue sheets, a phone, or a bike computer loaded with a GPX file. The Crawler has signed turns from start to finish, but the roads are public, so helmets are required, lights are recommended, and headphones are discouraged in groups. WoodTickr is a grassroots ride for both beginners and experienced cyclists, and it is part of the Gravel 'Sota Series in that series' inaugural season.
