Yonah Mountain Vertical Challenge 2027

The Yonah Mountain Vertical Challenge is a weekend trail race on Yonah Mountain, organized by Team Summit, focusing on climbing. Runners can select a 25km course with 5,000 feet of gain over three summits, a 50km course with 10,000 feet of gain over six summits, a 50km relay, or the Double UP, which involves completing the 25km and 50km on consecutive days. The trail is steep and technical for much of the ascent, featuring some scrambling sections before transitioning to dirt and gravel double-track near the summit. Portions are runnable for those with the necessary fitness and skill, but the repeated climbs emphasize this event as a test of climbing ability rather than a standard trail race. Relay teams may exchange runners between ascents at their discretion. The weekend concludes with an after-party at NoFo Brew Co, located approximately two miles from the trailhead.
